Welcome to the Alumni Admissions Program
Alumni are UConn’s best ambassadors. No one knows what it is like to be a Husky better than you. If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Philadelphia Area, or Washington, DC, this is your chance to help recruit and welcome future students to UConn Nation. This exciting opportunity is brought to you by a collaboration between UConn’s Alumni Association and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Volunteers in the Alumni Admissions Program are involved in the admissions efforts in a variety of ways, including attending College Fairs, Admitted Student Receptions or sharing their personal story with admitted students through e-mail, phone, or postcard. Alumni Admissions Volunteers are a valuable resource who provides a personalized, one-on-one interaction with students.
College Fairs: UConn attends College Fairs across the United States. Unfortunately, the admissions staff is unable to attend all events requested due to the high volume. The support of an Alumni Admissions Volunteer at the events is highly beneficial to increase UConn’s visibility across the region.
Admitted Students Receptions: Admitted students are invited to join Admissions, Financial Aid, and University professionals to be welcomed and congratulated on their achievement. Alumni are invited to attend to speak with admitted students and their families to provide input on their personal experiences with the university.
The timeline below can give you an idea of the general idea of involvement within the program.
August to December: UConn attends College Fairs and similar recruitment events across the United States.
February to May: The new class is welcomed by calls, e-mails, and postcards as well as invited to Admitted Students Receptions. In addition, UConn attends College Fairs and similar recruitment events across the United States.
