Sarah LaRose ’07 (CAHNR), ’08 MA (Neag) recently completed her PhD in Agricultural Education at the University of Florida after teaching high school agricultural education at Nonnewaug High School in Woodbury, Connecticut for seven years. In August 2018 she began a position as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN.
Celine Petrie ’00 (CAHNR)
Celine Petrie ’00 (CAHNR) lives in The Villages, Fla. and has been Chairman of the Board of the Humane Society/SPCA of Sumter County, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, since March 2016. The mission of the HS/SPCA is to provide care for adoptable animals that are injured, abused, unwanted, or abandoned; secure permanent homes for adoptable animals; provide spay and neuter services for animals to be adopted and animals of low-income residents; report incidents of animal cruelty and/or neglect to government agencies; and to encourage responsible animal ownership practices through education.

Marie Ann Mosher ’05 (CAHNR) has published several books including #1 bestseller in men’s and women’s health “Beyond Food”, and “The Secret Ingredient”. She also hosts The Book Babes, a support community for women authors, and recently launched the Author Secrets Masterclass, an online course for independent authors to market their books without traveling, in person events, or time away from their families.

Craig Yannes ’07 (ENG), ’09 MS and Angela (Marchetti) Yannes ’08 (CAHNR) announce the birth of their son, Leo. Leonard John Yannes was born December 9, 2017. The family lives in Milford, Conn.
Kelley (Leahy) Hill ’80 (CAHNR) ’94 MS
Kelley (Leahy) Hill ’80 (CAHNR) ’94 MS is the Head of Global Medical Writing at Alexion Pharmaceuticals, a biopharmaceutical company focused on serving patients with rare and ultra-rare disorders. Her early career included 17 years as the Manager of Biology Lab Services at UConn Storrs. After completion of an MS in Pharm/Tox, she shifted career focus to bench research and drug development project management in several biotech and pharma companies that has matured to her current role, leading clinical writing efforts to support drug development from first-in-human to life cycle management of marketed products. She is an active member of the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association, and also supports the Open Door food bank that serves Cape Ann (Massachusetts) communities.

Phillip Champagne ’06 (CAHNR) and Krystal (Hawks) Champagne ’06 (CLAS) welcomed their first child on July 22, 2017. Julian Phillippe Champagne weighed 7 lbs, 12 oz and measured 19 3/4″ long. The family resides in North Branford, Conn.
