Justin Theriault ’07 (CLAS), ’10 JD has been selected as a recipient of the “2017 New Leaders in the Law” award by The Connecticut Law Tribune. The winners have been chosen by outside nominations and internal review. The 2017 winners hail from law firms throughout the state of Connecticut. Mr. Theriault has been selected as a winner in the Employment Law category.

Heidi (Forrest) Henaire ’02 MSW and Kristopher Henaire ’03 (CLAS), ’16 MBA announce the birth of their daughter, Ella Grace. She joins two year old brother Colton. Heidi works for the State of Connecticut as an Education Consultant and Coordinator for Deaf Services and Kris is Director of College Counseling at Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury.

Michael Marshall, LMSW ’17 MSW

Michael Marshall, LMSW ’17 MSW was elected to the Board of Directors for the National Association of Social Workers – Connecticut Chapter. Marshall was also selected as a Credentialed Delegate Assembly Representative for the National Association of Social Workers in Washington, D.C. He was one of 200 Delegates nationwide to recently vote on the acceptance of a revised edition to the NASW Code of Ethics, the first revision made to their professions’ code since 2008. Marshall also received his Licensed Master Social Worker certification from the CT Department of Public Health and was hired as a Outpatient Clinician at a community based non-profit agency in Norwich, Conn.

Cynthia Harakaly ’12 MA and Shane Gibson ’12 MS

Cynthia Harakaly ’12 MA and Shane Gibson ’12 MS were married April 14, 2017 in Sedona, Ariz. They met at UConn in 2011 and moved to Arizona in 2013. Cynthia is a high school counselor at Mingus Union High School and Shane is a professor of mathematics at Yavapai College.

Christie D. Jean ’11 (CLAS), ’14 JD has been elected to the Board of Directors for the The Artists Collective, a multi-arts and cultural organization serving the Greater Hartford, Conn. region. The Artists Collective works to safeguard and maintain the arts and culture of the African diaspora and to expose children to a nontraditional arts education by promoting social skills training, school success, and community responsibility.
