Do you want to show your Husky pride? Do you want to help current students flourish in the process? Look no further than UConn’s second annual giving day! UConn Gives 2019 will run from 7 a.m. ET on March 27 to 7 p.m. ET on March 28. You can make a gift at any time during this window to support the aspects of UConn’s mission you care about the most. And with more than 110 projects—ranging from scholarship support to funding for study abroad opportunities—you’re sure to find a cause that’s close to your heart. Below, we highlight a few of the unique funding opportunities you can support March 27-28.

Homer Babbidge Library “Relaxation Zone”
Help UConn’s library create a “Relaxation Zone”, where there will be no cell phones, no computers, and comfortable furniture to allow students to unplug and take a break.

Forging a Path for Aspiring Educators at the Neag School
In Connecticut, the costs associated with teacher training (beyond tuition) can reach as high as $1,250 over the course of an undergraduate’s program. Your contribution to this project will help pay for teacher-candidate expenses, such as preparation materials for licensure examinations and the fingerprinting needed to intern in public schools, allowing these students to focus exclusively on their studies.

The Nugget Fund
Effective July 1, 2019, the Department of Geosciences will be re-established in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Through the Nugget Fund you can support student field work, field courses, and conference travel for undergrads and graduate students pursuing a geosciences degree. Field work takes UConn students to places like Taiwan, the Bahamas, Rome, and various western U.S. states so they can study different rock types and land formations and conduct firsthand research.

School of Fine Arts Digital Media and Design Program
This program, established in 2013, seeks to create future leaders in animation, gaming, web design and development, digital media strategies for business, and the digital humanities.

Entrepreneurship Boot Camp for Veterans (EBV)
This program offers cutting-edge, experiential training in entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with disabilities resulting from their service.

Engineering BRIDGE Scholarship
Your gift will help provide fellowships for students from underrepresented backgrounds to attend BRIDGE, a five-week summer program designed to prepare them for the rigor of the engineering curriculum at UConn, introduce them to leadership opportunities and careers in engineering, and familiarize them with the overall UConn experience.

UConn Ignite
The UConn Ignite Crowdfunding Challenge, where you can support student groups across all campuses, is also currently in full swing. Check out this year’s participants!
