Karen Munson is the president of Munson’s Chocolates and a third-generation chocolatier. Her paternal grandparents founded the Dandy Candy Co. in Manchester, Conn. in 1946, using sugar rations from the end of WWII to create ribbon candy and other treats.

Obviously, knowing your way around UConn’s campuses is a must for all of its police officers. But more than a dozen of them have an edge: They’re also UConn alumni.

Dan Toscano, a UConn alum and active supporter of a wide range of university initiatives, has been named the next Board of Trustees chairman.
