The following is the list of Alumni Association Committees for 2008-2009, with a brief description of each:

Awards

Reviews the criteria used to select award winners and those receiving special recognition. Selects award recipients. Evaluates process and quality of the awards program. Directly identifies nominees and presents them to the staff liaison.

Communications

Suggests ways the Alumni Association can promote awareness of the Association and enhance constituent knowledge and understanding of the Association’s missions and goals. Identifies methods/vehicles the Association can use to enhance communications and messaging to target audiences.

Diversity & Opportunity

Suggests ways in which the Association and the University can focus attention on issues of diversity. Identifies ways in which the Association can reach out to diverse group of alumni, faculty, staff and students. Promotes awareness of diversity issues among volunteers and staff.

Finance

Monitors financial records of the Association, including annual budget and fiscal issues. Recommends expenditures and budget management procedures.

Investment

Monitors UCAA investment portfolio, and recommends changes.

Membership & Marketing

Reviews all revenue-generating programs, including membership, merchandise, insurance and travel. Makes recommendations for enhancements to each program as appropriate.

Jodi Kaplan, UCAA Staff Liaison.

Outreach & Programs

Reviews the development and activities of chapters, constituent societies and affinity groups. Makes recommendations to the Board for approval of bylaws for new alumni groups affiliating with the Association. Also reviews on-campus programs and special events for alumni and students. Makes recommendations on the enhancement of such programs.

Student and Young Alumni

Suggests ways the Association can engage students and recent graduates to create the foundation for a lifelong alumni relationship as well as to inspire seniors/young alumni to become members of the Association. Identifies opportunities to advance the Association's strategic goals related to Supporting Students i.e. (1) Scholarships; (2) Mentoring, Internships and Career Support; (3) Lifelong Relationships; (4) Campus Traditions.
