Questions and Answers
What is the Sustaining Life Program? An opportunity for Life Members to continue to
support the Alumni Association through an annual
tax-deductible gift to the organization. This support
enables the Association to expand its work in
connecting alumni, supporting students and
strengthening UConn.
Why offer the Sustaining Life Program? Many Alumni Associations across the country offer
this program to their Life Members. Your relationship
with the Association shows your clear commitment to
our mission of engaging more than 200,000 alumni
around the world. This initiative provides a way to
continue your support and help expand programs and
services to students and alumni.
Where does the money go? Donations support programs such as student outreach,
scholarships, mentoring programs, communications,
and alumni networking. Gifts are deposited into an
Alumni Association fund at the UConn Foundation.
What if I don’t participate? If an additional contribution is not convenient at this
time, that is okay. You will always be a valued Life
Member of the Alumni Association and we remain
fully committed to serving as your permanent “life”-
link to UConn!
How much should I give? Every gift matters. You may give at the level that fits
with your philanthropic plans. Some alumni will
choose to give at the $100, $250, $500, or $1,000 levels.
Life Members who give at the $250 level or higher will
receive recognition from the Alumni Association as
part of the Sustaining Life Program.
How do I make my tax deductible donation? Please fill out this form and mail it with
payment to:

As a life member, you understand that special connection to your alma mater. Your life membership has helped the Alumni Association develop the programs that allow alumni to stay connected to their beloved University of Connecticut. Today we are inviting you to participate with fellow life members in our Sustaining Life Program. This initiative is, simply, a voluntary opportunity for current life members to provide additional, annual philanthropic support to the Association. Your tax-deductible gift will allow us to enhance our existing programs and develop new ones.
Because of the loyalty of our life members, the Alumni Association continues to:
- Connect alumni through the Husky Alumni Network, national and international events, and regular electronic and print communications.
- Support students with annual student scholarships, on-campus events and programming, and networking opportunities.
- Strengthen the University by recognizing outstanding faculty contributions, partnering on major initiatives, and fostering UConn pride to help build a stronger Husky family.
Sustaining Life participants who donate $250 or more will:
- Receive special recognition in our annual Life Member calendar, on the Alumni Association website, and in Member News.
- Receive credit toward lifetime giving to the University.
If making a contribution to support the work of your Alumni Association is an easy decision for you, simply complete this form and mail it to the Foundation. We value your status as a life member and remain fully committed to serving as your permanent (life)-link to UConn!
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to the future of the University of Connecticut and also to your Alumni Association. Your support and loyalty truly make a difference.
Sincerely, Lisa R. Lewis Executive Director and Life Member UConn Alumni Association
