New Alumni Group Structure Proposal
Prior to 2007, each alumni group received funding based on the number of its members. In 2007 a new group structure and funding system was introduced which considered group activity and programming in determining group level and corresponding funding. Two versions of standardized group by-laws were also implemented at this time.
A review of how the system has worked over the past two years suggests the need to simplify and evolve the group structure/funding and by-laws. During FY09/10 the Outreach and Programs Committee has been exploring ways the group structure system can place more emphasis on quality alumni group programming (vs quantity), membership initiatives and group leader involvement as well as ways to align more closely with the new strategic plan. The proposal also calls for changing from the current existing by-laws to a set of Operating Guidelines. Both the new group structure and operating guidelines can be viewed in the downloaded document below.
