Senior Admissions Officer, University of Connecticut

Being the son of parents in the Military, Bob was born in the city of Bitburg, Germany, growing up in New Hampshire, South Dakota and Connecticut. He graduated from E.O. Smith High School in Storrs, Connecticut and attended the University of Connecticut from 1979-83. He graduated with a B.A. from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, majoring in Psychology and was an All-American track athlete as well as a recipient of the UConn Club Outstanding Senior Athlete Award. After graduation he interned with the UConn Athletic Development Office under the direction of Dee Rowe and then worked as a member of the UConn Alumni Association staff for 12 years under the direction of Roger Thalacker. While working with the Alumni Association his responsibilities included Student Alumni Association Advisor, Clubs and Chapters Coordinator, reunions and publications. After the Alumni Association he moved to the office of Undergraduate Admissions and has served as an Admissions Officer and Senior Admissions Officer. He has advised and recruited students for the past twelve years, during which time he has worked with alumni to help recruit prospective students.

Candidate statement: "Having been involved with the University as a student and employee, I have a collective 30 years of knowledge and experience that I believe I can bring to the Alumni Association Board of Directors. As the Alumni Association continues to move forward with the effort to fulfill its mission for the University, I look forward to the opportunity to give back some of what the University has done for me, not only as an alumnus, but as a member of the University community as well."
