Opened in 1989, the Centennial Alumni House is a showpiece facility on a campus that is now home to some of the most magnificent buildings in the Northeast. Built at a cost of $2.2 million—funded completely by the UConn Alumni Association—the Alumni House is a highlight of our 25,000-square-foot Alumni Center.
Dedicated on Homecoming Day 2001, the Alumni Center is a great source of pride for the University and our alumni. It includes a renovated Alumni House, an Alumni Hall of Excellence, a newly developed Sports Museum, and state-of-the-art alumni staff offices. An Alumni Lounge provides the perfect resting spot for visitors to the Center.

Testimonials
“We hold a variety of events each year in the Alumni Center. They range from sit down dinners to outdoor “meet and greets” under a tent. Sometimes when we are working with recruits or prospective donors we just walk over and enjoy the museum and find a nice place to sit down and talk. No matter how formal or informal, large or small, the staff at the Alumni Center works with you to make your event a success. A great help is the tremendous working relationship between the Alumni Center and University Catering. It allows you to really relax and focus on the event, rather than the details.”

"We used the Alumni Center for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary party, which was a wonderful choice. The room (the Great Room) was beautiful, and functioned very well for the flow of guests throughout cocktails and dinner. Many guests commented on what a wonderful place for a party it was. We were also extremely pleased with how friendly, efficient, flexible, helpful, and accommodating the staff was. Julie Sweeney made the pre-planning and the event itself very easy and enjoyable, and was a real pleasure to work with. I would look forward to an excuse to have another function there!"

“The Graduate Residences Association sponsored an end of the semester celebration held at the Alumni Center. The Alumni Center's Great Hall was the perfect location for our event, which 100 or more of our residents attended. There was space to mingle over appetizers, dance to the music provided by WHUS, and we were even able to have a slideshow of photos we had collected over the year running in the background. Given the success of our event, we are hoping to use the Alumni Center again for next year!
