Alumni Board of Trustees

The UConn Board of Trustees has been an integral part of UConn's fabric since its founding. The Board of Trustees has jurisdiction over UConn, including all of its colleges and other units, and has a responsibility to serve UConn by making the best possible decisions regarding the University as a whole. The Board of Trustees' main responsibilities are to elect UConn's president, adopt an annual financial plan of operation, enhance student life, and establish degrees to be awarded.

The Board of Trustees is comprised of 21 UConn alumni members who demonstrate farsighted vision and dedicated leadership:

  • 12 appointed by the governor
  • Two elected by alumni; each serve a four-year term and represent the voice of all UConn alumni
  • Two elected by students
  • Five ex-officio members, including the governor and the commissioners of agriculture and education

Current Alumni Trustees

UConn graduates elect two alumni trustees to each serve a four-year term on the Board of Trustees and become the elected voice of all UConn alumni.
